Kia Ora! Well despite being an avowed techno-geek today actually marks my first ever blog entries so I will endeavor to keep it short and tolerable and hopefully they will improve with time.
Today marks 12 days till our departure...of course one has to add another day for our arrival- anyone with a birthday on Jan 3rd this year will go without a birthday. Not sure if this provides some loophoole for aging but there you have it. So that's right according to our count-down ticker we have less than two-weeks till departure and what with the intervening holidays the time is quite literally going to fly.
The last few days have seen a definite up-tick in email traffic with lots of good queries from various participants in the program with a range of questions regarding computers (bring 'em, if you got to) to hair dryers (don't bother) to power plugs (NZ plug are different, plug adapters should work for most devices some may require actual power converters- both are easily acquired before hand or abroad). Of course the most critical info is knowing where and when we will be meeting- Jan 2 10:30am USAir Ticket Counter Terminal B/C Philadelphia Airport...be there. For a map to the terminal go to here
Well that's about all for now. Tomorrow I will go into some detail about how we will utilize the blog forumn in the program including appropriate netiquette and what each participant will be asked to contribute to the blog so stay tuned for more developments and hopefully far more exciting journals with pictures and video and thoughts from abroad.
