The NZ Herald is the top paper in the country so lots of good stories and links here. Look especially for stories related to the environment and Maori culture. You can even add an RSS feed to get updated streaming of news headlines with links to the stories.

I just came across an interesting topical story dealing with shoreline erosion along Lake Taupo- yes lakes can experience erosion too- just ask anyone who lives along the Great Lakes. At any rate have a look and we can discuss this problem and the possible alternatives we might even get the chance to explore some of the areas mentioned.
