A friendly hello...

Hello hello, I hope everyones new years was a delight. Some how I'm not surprised I'm probably the last poster. My name is Nate, I'm a sophomore and a newly declared environmental science major. Looking at the blog i can see everybody is pretty pumped to go...which is good, cause i am too.

I cant really decide one thing I'm looking forward to most because it all looks so awesome. Its been awhile since I've been abroad, so I'm really excited to start traveling again in general. I pretty much love everything about the outdoors, adventures and such, so all trips to the volcanoes and beaches are going to be rad. Ive never truly been in a seismically active area like NZ so its going to be a really cool experience. I'm also intrigued to see how culture and society work in NZ. Ive never really been immersed in a foreign culture since the only place I've been abroad is England aka America 2.0. As an avid snowboarder and surfer, so I'm really looking forward to sand surfing, and surfing in general. If anybody wants to go surfing with me please let me know, there are sick breaks all over the place! I'm actually kinda nervous about this, because the waves were skunked all summer, and New Zealand can get quite good, so I'm probably going to get wrecked. You can check out that stuff here http://www.surf.co.nz/. I'm also actually really looking forward to the classes. The setting is perfect for theses course so its going to awesome to take advantage of all New Zealand can contribute. As for the free weekend, I'm pretty much down for anything-adventures, extreme sports, you name it and I want to do it. I just picked up an NZ adventure guide mmm about an hour ago so that should help. The skydiving over Fox Glacier looked awesome.

Basically I'm super pumped for tomorrow. I want to do everything i can, and get the most out of this trip as I can. Alright, I'm going to pack and then go to Wendy's to get my last taste of fine American cuisine. See you all in terminal B.

Cheers,
Nate

One last thing, If anybody enjoys running let me know. I do not, but have to do it, so any company would be greatly appreciated.
